CHAPTER 69: Different

“Rest?”

Ji Lingyue paused, her gaze lingering on Lan Wu’s back. She watched as Lan Wu lazily slipped off her robes, followed by her shoes and socks. The elegant contours of her shoulder blades stretched and relaxed, creating a subtle curve beneath her thin garments. Her soft silver hair cascaded down like a waterfall. Lan Wu raised her fingertips, and blue spiritual energy flowed effortlessly, cleansing herself.

Having finished, she climbed into bed, pulled up the covers, and settled down comfortably.

Ji Lingyue asked, “Are you going to sleep so early?”

Lan Wu replied, “Yes.”

Ji Lingyue pursed her lips, suddenly rushing over and jumping onto the bed, “This is my blanket.”

“What’s yours is mine,” Lan Wu said shamelessly.

Ji Lingyue immediately lowered her head, glaring at her. Lan Wu couldn’t help but shrink under the covers, revealing only her bright eyes, secretly peeking at her like a thief. Ji Lingyue grew even more annoyed at this and grabbed the blanket, tugging it toward herself. “Give it back!”

“Hey… you, you’re not even cold, why do you need the blanket? Wait, stop pulling…” Lan Wu couldn’t win against her. Soon, she was left with only a small corner. After a moment of silence, she draped it over her stomach and looked at Ji Lingyue, who had wrapped herself like a cocoon with her back turned. “You’re so childish.”

Ji Lingyue huffed. “And you’re such a clueless demon!”

Lan Wu froze, finally understanding. She couldn’t help but laugh. “But I was never a clever demon to begin with.”

“You always have an excuse…” Ji Lingyue gripped the blanket tightly, about to turn and scold her, but Lan Wu suddenly wrapped her arms around her, blanket and all. “If you wanted it, you could have just told me.”

Ji Lingyue instinctively shrank back, mumbling, “But I’m always the one taking the initiative…”

Lan Wu smiled, peeling her out of the blanket. “Then I promise, from now on, I’ll take the lead.”

“Easy for you to say,” Ji Lingyue half-heartedly resisted as Lan Wu flipped her over, her face still set in a pout. “Even when you do initiate, you’re not exactly passionate. You can’t come up with anything interesting…”

Lan Wu suddenly stopped. “Interesting?”

She frowned, confused. After a moment, she asked hesitantly, “So, you like that sort of thing?”

Ji Lingyue froze, instinctively saying, “That’s not what I meant…”

But Lan Wu already pointed a finger, and a white knot of rope suddenly appeared, nimbly wrapping around Ji Lingyue’s wrist. Her eyes widened, and she instinctively struggled, but couldn’t break free. She looked at Lan Wu, trying to maintain her composure. “Are you… are you going to tie me up for this?”

“Didn’t you say I wasn’t passionate or interesting?” Lan Wu propped herself up, looking down at her. “Then let’s try something different tonight.”

With that, she lowered her gaze, leaning down to kiss her. Despite her nervousness, Ji Lingyue obediently parted her lips, actively meeting her lover’s tongue. With her wrists bound, she raised her arms, pulling Lan Wu’s silver head into her embrace.

Their breaths mingled as Lan Wu expertly removed Ji Lingyue’s clothes, her palm caressing the sensitive skin of her inner thigh. She could already feel the growing wetness.

Lan Wu lifted her gaze, glancing at Ji Lingyue’s face, so close to her own, and gently bit her soft tongue.

“Mmm…”

Ji Lingyue’s eyes fluttered shut, her bare legs curling slightly as she rubbed against Lan Wu’s waist. But then she felt something hard and scaly emerge, followed by something wet and slippery coiling around her legs. It felt cool, soft, and smooth, almost like a snake wrapping around her.

Her long lashes fluttered in surprise, and she tried to look down, but Lan Wu cupped her face. “Don’t look…”

Ji Lingyue stared at Lan Wu, surprised to see a faint blush spreading across the mermaid’s usually pale cheeks. Her blue eyes were wet, looking even more embarrassed than Ji Lingyue herself.

The more Lan Wu tried to stop her, the more curious Ji Lingyue became. She kept sneaking glances downward between kisses, and Lan Wu, realizing she couldn’t focus, sighed and finally let her see.

From her chest down, faint silver scales appeared along her ribs, like two winding silver waves, ending at her hips. And a few jellyfish-like, translucent tentacles were wrapped around her waist, with other ends gently coiling around Ji Lingyue’s legs and others around Lan Wu’s arms, swaying gently with her movements.

They looked almost alive.

Ji Lingyue stared in fascination as one tentacle lifted and waved as if in greeting. Lan Wu blushed and said, “Merfolk, if they don’t want to do it the usual way, they can use these to… to mate.”

After a long moment, Ji Lingyue blinked and muttered, “I need to write this down in the Compendium of Demons.”

Lan Wu was speechless.

This reaction was completely unexpected. She was at a loss for words.

“You really are…” She shook her head helplessly, then lowered her head to capture Ji Lingyue’s lips again. Her fingers, however, moved down, parting the soft, wet folds and slipping inside.

Ji Lingyue let out a low moan, but her eyes remained fixed on the translucent tentacles drawing closer. They seemed to be made of water, soft and flexible. As Lan Wu’s right hand moved in and out of her wetness, one of them coiled around her arm, its rounded tip eagerly enveloping the sensitive bud hidden within her folds.

Ji Lingyue suddenly gripped Lan Wu’s shoulders, tilting her head back as her narrow eyes filled with tears. “Ah, no… I can’t…”

Though made of water, yet it felt as if it was squeezing and sucking her from all directions, shamelessly playing with her most sensitive spot.

Her body trembled uncontrollably. Ji Lingyue whimpered, her feet pushing against the bed, trying to escape the strange sensation. But the soft watery sphere seemed to be glued to her core, relentlessly stimulating the increasingly swollen nub.

“Lan Wu!” she cried out.

“Don’t be afraid,” Lan Wu kissed her neck, withdrawing her fingers from her entrance. Immediately, a tentacle slid in, smoothly entering her.

Ji Lingyue’s back arched, her eyes red as she looked at Lan Wu. “Will it hurt?”

“No,” Lan Wu reassured her, gently kissing away her tears. After so many times together, she knew how tight Ji Lingyue was, how easily she could become sore, so she moved carefully, gently massaging her butt to help her relax.

She soothed her, “If we do it this way, we can also transfer spiritual energy.”

Ji Lingyue hummed, responding, “Transfer… mmm, what kind of energy?”

“Just… think of it as dual cultivation,” seeing that Ji Lingyue was biting her lip until it turned white, she couldn’t help but reach out and gently rub her lower lip. When she loosened her grip, Lan Wu slipped two fingers inside, Ji Lingyue instinctively sucking on them as she teased her tongue with her fingertips. A moan of pleasure escaped from her throat. She closed her eyes, her black hair sticking to her face with sweat, her beautiful eyes watery and vulnerable.

“And that way, you can’t say I’m not interesting.”
