Extra Chapter 69: Vampire AU part 21

After a while, Lan Wu’s breathing gradually steadied, and her cold lips left Ji Lingyue’s neck. Ji Lingyue lowered her gaze, meeting Lan Wu’s cautious, soft, and obedient eyes.

She couldn’t help but lower her voice. “What’s wrong?”

Lan Wu averted her eyes, hesitating for a moment before murmuring, “I’m sorry.”

“Sorry for what?”

The vampire raised a hand, gently touching the bruised skin of her neck, feeling apologetic. “I’m sorry.”

Ji Lingyue was taken aback, just about to say “It’s okay” when Lan Yuan, standing nearby, let out a loud, pointed cough.

Lan Wu blinked, looking up to find her sister arms crossed and scowling. Seeing Lan Wu looking at her, Lan Yuan pointed to the scratch on her own cheek.

Lan Wu was silent for a moment, then mumbled, “Sorry.”

Lan Yuan’s expression softened. She was about to turn away when Lan Wu called out, “Wait.”

Lan Yuan raised an eyebrow, feigning nonchalance. “What now?”

Lan Wu copied her gesture, pointing to her own battered face.

Lan Yuan looked her up and down, taking in her battered appearance, and after a moment, she let out a derisive laugh. “If I hadn’t beaten some sense into you, who knows how long you would’ve kept acting crazy. I’m not apologizing.”

Lan Wu: “!”

Her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Lan Yuan, her face growing redder by the second. Just as she was about to burst into tears from anger, Ji Lingyue interjected, “Are you still hungry? Do you want to drink some more?”

Lan Wu’s attention immediately shifted. “Can I?”

“Of course.”

Lan Wu brightened up, then shook her head with a sigh. “Never mind. I’m full.” She obediently stood, pulling the girl who had been kneeling on the ground up with her.

After making sure Ji Lingyue was comfortable, she turned to walk to Lan Yuan, who was standing on the balcony, looking out at the darkness. “Did you come to take me home?”

Lan Yuan huffed. “What else would I be chasing you around for? Do you think I did it for fun?”

Remembering the conflict with Ji Lingyue, she merely rolled her eyes, not in the mood to bicker now that Lan Wu was getting along with her. “I’m being generous and won’t hold it against you. Once it hits nine and the rain starts, have her take the collar off you. Then come with me.”

Lan Wu bit her lip, saying softly, “I want to bring her with me.”

Lan Yuan didn’t follow. “Who? Bring who?”

“Ji Lingyue.”

Lan Yuan paused, turning to stare at her. “Why?”

“Because, because…” Lan Wu wracked her brain, then her eyes lit up. “Because she’s my blood slave! Yes, she’s my blood slave. I’ll get hungry on the way back, so I’ll need her blood.”

Lan Yuan responded, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Oh, really? She’s your blood slave? Well, I must be out of the loop. Since when do blood slaves get to put collars on their masters?”

“That was my choice. I allowed her to do it. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to.” Lan Wu held up her fist, righteously stating, “You wouldn’t understand. It’s our… special relationship.”

Seeing how absurd Lan Wu’s explanation had become, Lan Yuan’s smile faded, replaced by a cold look. “I was there when she put that collar on you, Lan Wu. Don’t lie to my face. What did she do to you? Drug you? You’d even defend her after she sold you out!”

Lan Wu tried to maintain her composure. “Believe it or not, she’s really my blood slave. I’ll need her blood on the way back because I’ll…”

Lan Yuan cut her off. “If you get hungry on the way back, you can drink the blood of that human I caught.”

Lan Wu froze, glancing over at Meng Changge, who was trying to blend into the corner. After a few seconds, she quickly looked away, rejecting the idea. “No!”

“Why not?”

“I… I only drink my own blood slave’s blood!”

“Don’t be ridiculous. You weren’t this picky before.”

“I’m not being ridiculous! I don’t like other people’s blood. I can’t stomach it. I only like Ji Lingyue’s blood!”

After she yelled this, the girl crouching by the zombie could no longer maintain her composure. Her cheeks burned, and she lowered her head in embarrassment, her ears turning completely red, whether from anger or shame.

Hearing this, Lan Yuan fell silent for a long time before finally furrowing her brow and saying slowly, “Ah, so she really is your blood slave.”

Lan Wu felt a wave of relief, but before she could speak, Lan Yuan continued, “Lan Wu, haven’t you realized it yet? You’ve been trained into…”
