Chapter 107: Sleeping Together

This time, compared to their previous encounter, was more intense and memorable. In a secluded corner, they embraced each other intimately.

Qu Weiyin eventually couldn’t hold back, her voice becoming hoarse as she neared exhaustion. She grasped Luo Jinxiao’s hand, softly asking her to stop.

Luo Jinxiao was reluctant at first, but when Qu Weiyin pleaded with a mix of frustration and desperation in her raspy voice, she finally relented, rolling over to lie beside her.

Night had fallen, the sky a deep blue with just a few streaks of light remaining at the edges. Their breaths mingled, slowly calming down.

Luo Jinxiao picked up the outer robe from the side and gently covered Qu Weiyin with it, concealing the disarray.

Qu Weiyin hummed, in no mood to bother with her at the moment. She was tired and just wanted to sleep.

Luo Jinxiao looked at Qu Weiyin, her affection growing with each glance. She reached out to try and move her to a more comfortable position on the bed, but Qu Weiyin pushed her away.

“Don’t move, I’m tired,” Qu Weiyin said grumpily.

“Hmm? Where are you tired?” Luo Jinxiao asked, propping herself up.

Qu Weiyin felt a surge of shyness and refused to speak further, turning over to face away from Luo Jinxiao. Her smooth, flowing back appeared before Luo Jinxiao’s eyes, reminiscent of a flawless jade ruyi scepter.

Luo Jinxiao snuggled closer, embracing her from behind, shielding her from the wind.

“Junior Shishu.”

“What is it?” Qu Weiyin asked with her eyes closed.

“Nothing, just wanted to call you,” Luo Jinxiao said with a smile, leaving a kiss on the back of her neck.

Qu Weiyin quickly fell asleep. She was truly too tired today to have any other thoughts. Her breathing was soft and even, clearly sleeping soundly.

She had no nightmares and unconsciously leaned into Luo Jinxiao’s embrace. Luo Jinxiao fumbled to straighten her messy clothes and then leaned against her, falling into a deep sleep.

The wind in the sea of flowers was very subtle, silent and still. The antique bed held a mixture of fragrances.

They slept for a long time. When they woke up, the sky was already bright. Luo Jinxiao rubbed her eyes, and when her hand touched the space beside her, she jumped up in fright, nearly falling head over heels.

A hand reached out from the side to steady her, chiding, “What’s wrong, so clumsy.”

Hearing her voice, Luo Jinxiao finally exhaled, “I thought you were gone again.”

“I’d like to go out, but I can’t undo your barrier,” Qu Weiyin said, continuing to bend down and pluck a red flower, gently placing it into the bouquet she held in her arms.

She was still fully dressed, showing no trace of the previous night. Her long skirt trailed over the petals, soft and flowing, leaving no marks.

Luo Jinxiao chuckled and jumped to her side. At some point, the chirping of birds and insects had filled the air, and the wind was blowing, causing the entire sea of flowers to tilt in one direction.

The wind lifted the strands of hair tied behind Qu Weiyin’s back, and two pale blue butterflies landed on her hair.

Qu Weiyin cast a bewitching glance at Luo Jinxiao from the corner of her phoenix-like eyes before turning and striding out of the flower field. Luo Jinxiao, momentarily stunned by that look, hurried to catch up once Qu Weiyin had gone some distance.

In the center of the boundless expanse of colors, two figures, one red and one green, walked slowly. The red figure was still, while the green one skipped and hopped.

After three years of recovery, the Demon Realm looked as it once had, with spiritual energy filling the mountains and plains, and lush vegetation. Some small demons scurried past them, stealing glances.

“Where are we going now?” Qu Weiyin asked as she walked, drawing closer to Luo Jinxiao and taking her hand.

Luo Jinxiao happily grasped her soft fingers and thought for a moment, “Let’s go back to the Celestial Realm, it’s peaceful there.”

“Aren’t you going to say goodbye to your master and sister?” Qu Weiyin said. She seemed to hesitate for a moment before adding, “And the Sect Leader.”

“We should, but, you…”

Qu Weiyin squeezed her hand and shook her head. “Once we go, we probably won’t be coming out for a long time. Things are unpredictable, it’s better to go back. They must be very worried about you.”

“You don’t have to worry about me. I’m a demon, it’s not good for me to show my face. I can find a place to wait for you.”

Qu Weiyin’s tone was very calm, but Luo Jinxiao felt a pang of discomfort hearing it, as if being a demon meant she had to live in the shadows.

And in the vast Wuhui Sect, there was no one she could bid farewell to.

Luo Jinxiao remained silent for a moment, then suddenly smiled. “No, I must go back with you, and I also need to inform the Wuhui Sect that we are now married.”

Qu Weiyin raised her eyes.

“Look, very few people know about our marriage, so I have to go back and let everyone under the heavens, all across the land, celebrate with us.” Luo Jinxiao smiled brightly, pulling Qu Weiyin along as she ran a few steps.

Hearing this, Qu Weiyin bit her red lip with her pearly teeth and shook her head with a smile.

“I think you just want the whole world to see you as an enemy,” she gently rebuked.

“That’s just perfect! Let them see what an ancient God Clan member is capable of!” Luo Jinxiao proudly patted her chest.

The tree demon was guarding the entrance to the Demon Realm. Seeing the two of them walking hand-in-hand, she hurried forward, surprised. “Are you leaving already? I thought you would stay here for a while longer.”

“We have some urgent matters to attend to. Thank you for your hospitality,” Luo Jinxiao said.

“What hospitality? Yesterday, you two disappeared, and Xiu’er and I searched for you for a long time but couldn’t find you.” The tree demon frowned.

Qu Weiyin coughed softly, bending over to the side.

“Well, the beautiful scenery and pleasant time, aren’t those forms of hospitality?” Luo Jinxiao was pinched on the back by Qu Weiyin, the pain nearly bringing tears to her eyes. She forced a smile and waved to the tree demon.

The tree demon was taken aback for a moment, then returned to her usual demeanor. As she opened the barrier, she cautioned, “I can sense that there might be heavy rain in the next few days. Be careful of thunder and lightning.”

In the late summer, rain was quite common. Luo Jinxiao took her words as mere courtesy and responded with a smile.

However, the tree demon grabbed her sleeve and pondered for a while before emphasizing, “It might not be ordinary rain.”

Luo Jinxiao stopped and turned to look into her dark green eyes.

It felt as if a stone had been dropped into her heart, sinking heavily.

Seeing Qu Weiyin approaching, she quickly regained her composure and waved to the tree demon with a bright smile. Pulling Qu Weiyin along, their figures stepped onto their swords and disappeared into the horizon.

It didn’t take long to return to the Wuhui Sect from the Demon Realm.

When the familiar rolling mountains reappeared in her sight, Luo Jinxiao’s unsettled heart instantly calmed down. She turned to look at Qu Weiyin, only to see the corners of her lips slightly curled up, visibly relaxed.

Wuzhong City had also just shaken off the demonic invasion. Now it was a scene of vibrant flowers and lush greenery, with bustling streets and crowds. The noise could be heard even from high above.

“It’s so beautiful,” Luo Jinxiao murmured to herself.

They flew over Wuzhong City, over the winding rivers. Below them were the familiar white jade pillars gleaming in the sunlight. Not far away, on the mountainside, the spiritual energy from the disciples’ cultivation overflowed, swirling and dancing in a colorful display on the white jade platform.

The demonic energy emanating from Qu Weiyin quickly attracted the attention of the disciples. Several figures suddenly appeared at the main gate, their eyebrows furrowed and swords drawn, looking at them warily.

“Luo Jinxiao?” Someone shouted from the crowd. Yan Ying, holding a long whip, strode out and waved her hand, ordering the others to lower their spiritual weapons.

“You’re finally back! Luo Ning has been constantly talking about you, almost driving herself crazy.” Yan Ying’s voice was laced with annoyance as she tucked her whip into her waist. However, as soon as she finished speaking, she saw the silent Qu Weiyin beside Luo Jinxiao and her body stiffened.

Qu Weiyin noticed her gaze and slightly turned her face away.

“We… came back to take a look,” Luo Jinxiao said with a nervous chuckle, stepping forward to shield Qu Weiyin with her body. “Is everything alright in the sect?”

“Yes, everything is fine. The demons have disappeared, and everything seems to be back on track.” After finishing her sentence, Yan Ying turned around and waved her hand forcefully at the disciples, signaling them to leave.

“Aren’t those Senior Sister Luo and Junior Shishu Qu?” Someone whispered.

“It seems so, but didn’t Junior Shishu Qu succumb to demonic cultivation?”

“I told you to disperse, are you deaf?!” Yan Ying suddenly shouted, startling everyone, who scattered like birds and beasts.

“You wouldn’t listen to reason, so you’ll have to face the consequences.” Yan Ying grumbled and clapped her hands. “Senior Brother Si Yu went into Qi Deviation after hearing about Junior Shishu Qu’s situation. He’s currently in forced seclusion for cultivation, so I’m in charge of the disciples now.”

As she spoke of this, a smile spread across her face.

“Luo Jinxiao!” A loud voice rang out. Lu Fanzhi rushed out from somewhere, slapping Luo Jinxiao hard on the shoulder, her face crinkling with delight. “You’re finally back! I thought Junior Shishu Qu had swallowed you whole!”

Luo Jinxiao shifted her body expressionlessly, revealing Qu Weiyin’s face. Lu Fanzhi immediately froze in place.

“Take us to see Elder Liu and the Sect Leader,” Luo Jinxiao said.

Perhaps due to Qu Weiyin’s presence, Lu Fanzhi didn’t dare to speak a word along the way, only focusing on her steps. Thankfully, Yan Ying was bolder and asked about everything that had happened after they left the Wuhui Sect.

Curious disciples had already gathered behind them, forming a long line despite being scolded several times by Yan Ying.

“So, Junior Shishu Qu isn’t actually like the rumors say?” Yan Ying asked in surprise, just as they reached the entrance to the Wuhui Palace and pushed open the doors.

The doors slowly opened, and the first thing they saw was the Sect Leader, still dressed in white. She seemed to have grown thinner, but her calm demeanor remained unchanged. She sat upright in her seat, and upon seeing Luo Jinxiao, her light-colored eyes widened slightly, her hand tightening on the armrest as she almost stood up.

Then she calmly sat back down.

“Sister!” A clear voice rang out. Luo Ning rushed to Luo Jinxiao and grabbed her arm. “You’re back.”

Her eyes were filled with joy, as if she had been very happy these days.

It made sense. Being able to temporarily put down the burden she had carried for a thousand years must have brought her a lot of relief.

“Slow down,” Yan Ying muttered from the side, pulling Luo Ning away from Luo Jinxiao.

“Don’t touch me,” Luo Ning snapped, shaking off her hand.

A warm feeling welled up in Luo Jinxiao’s heart. She reached out to pat Luo Ning’s head, and they exchanged glances.

“Sister,” Luo Ning smiled sweetly.

“You’re back,” the Sect Leader suddenly said, her voice gentle and clear, as if coming from the heavens.

“Since you’re back, explain everything one by one,” she said.

Hearing this, Luo Jinxiao stepped forward and bowed to Elder Liu, who was standing with a stern expression. Once again, she recounted Qu Weiyin’s story from beginning to end.

After she finished speaking, silence fell over the hall.

Everyone remained silent for a while. Suddenly, Gui Jiu in the corner slapped his forehead and exclaimed in realization, “So two years ago, when we encountered the demons and you personally chased after them, it was to save me under the watchful eyes of the demons?”

He looked apologetic and remorseful. “I was still wondering how I managed to escape with my life from the Demon Lord. I was too narrow-minded.”

“It’s alright,” Qu Weiyin, who had been indifferent, finally spoke.

“You two secretly got married? You disgraceful disciple!” Elder Liu finally reacted, pulling out her stick and swinging it at Luo Jinxiao. Luo Jinxiao was startled and quickly dodged around the hall.

“Master, why did you only hear that part?” Luo Jinxiao said with a wry smile as she ran, finally taking refuge behind the Sect Leader to escape the beating.

“Alright, alright.” The Sect Leader waved her sleeve, signaling Elder Liu to calm down. Then she pulled Luo Jinxiao closer, looking her up and down before turning to Qu Weiyin.

Qu Weiyin’s gaze turned cold.

“Do you know that disciples of the Wuhui Sect are not allowed to marry? Once married, they are no longer part of the Wuhui Sect.”

The Sect Leader’s expression was quite serious, her lips tightly pursed.

Hearing this, Luo Jinxiao was about to speak, but she was interrupted by the Sect Leader’s sudden change in tone.

“However, those are old rules from a hundred years ago. Now that I’m here, I can change them.”
