Chapter 74: Princess Carry

Luo Jinxiao had no time to think about what was happening. Fury engulfed her, her eyes filled with killing intent.

Qu Weiyin’s body was burning hot. Luo Jinxiao held her with one arm and slowly picked up the fallen Wujue with the other.

The moment Wujue touched her skin, it began to tremble, clinging to her as if trying to become one with her.

Vague fragments flashed in her mind, alternating between snowy landscapes and fields littered with corpses, ancient and desolate.

“Jinxiao…” Qu Weiyin murmured, her voice laced with confusion and fear. Her icy hand groped around, finding Luo Jinxiao’s.

She gripped that hand tightly, trying to wake Luo Jinxiao up.

Luo Jinxiao’s eyes suddenly snapped open. She released Qu Weiyin and vanished. Luo Ning caught Qu Weiyin, her usually calm eyes flashing with momentary panic.

Just now, she had sensed another aura from Luo Jinxiao, as if she had become a different person, utterly unfamiliar.

“Junior Shishu Qu, my sister is fine,” Luo Ning said, holding Qu Weiyin tightly, preventing her from venturing further with her weakened body.

When the pale blue figure reappeared, she was standing behind Yu Gui, her black hair swirling around her, her eyes icy cold. The cave, under the pressure of immense power, began to collapse. White light flickered on and off, dazzling the eyes.

But Luo Jinxiao seemed completely indifferent. Her almond-shaped eyes slightly open, she raised her slender hand into the air and began to speak in an ancient language.

The two demons hurriedly turned around, but before they could release their demonic energy, several streaks of silver light enveloped them. With a single command, the light tightened swiftly.

“What is this!” Ah Chou panicked, realizing his power was dissipating. Under these mere strands of white light, he found himself powerless, like a bird trapped in a cage, unable to break free.

Then, his agonized screams echoed through the sky. The white light transformed into sharp blades, slowly slicing through his flesh. His withered skin began to melt, revealing the white bones beneath.

Seeing this, Yu Gui grew even more terrified. Struggling to maintain his composure, his voice lost its ethereal quality: “Who exactly are you?”

Luo Jinxiao remained silent, or perhaps she simply disdained to answer. Her eyes held a malevolence and cruelty never seen before, focused solely on slowly tearing the demons before her to pieces.

As she wished, Ah Chou’s screams grew more horrific. The Netherworld Diagram he had cultivated was nothing more than a child’s plaything in the face of Luo Jinxiao’s current power.

Seeing this, Yu Gui knew he couldn’t die with him. His body suddenly shrank into a ball, transforming into demonic energy, and rolled out of the white light’s confinement. Luo Jinxiao released her hand, and Wujue flew out, turning transparent mid-flight, silently piercing through Ah Chou’s body.

Unlike the last time, Ah Chou’s aged skin began to rot and burst from within. He howled miserably and, in full view of everyone, exploded into a pile of flesh and blood.

Blood splattered onto Qu Weiyin’s face. She froze, yelling Luo Jinxiao’s name, trying to bring her back to her senses.

She was suddenly terrified of this Luo Jinxiao, trembling all over.

Seeing no escape, Yu Gui suddenly charged towards Qu Weiyin, hoping to seek refuge. Luo Jinxiao, seeing this, reappeared in front of Qu Weiyin in a flash, leaving not even an afterimage. A transparent force, faster than the wind, surged forth, aiming to obliterate Yu Gui.

Realizing he couldn’t block it no matter what, Yu Gui suddenly had a wicked thought. He pulled the dazed Yao Yao in front of him, using her to shield against this attack. Caught completely off guard, Yao Yao didn’t even have time to cry out in pain before she turned to ash, scattering to the ground.

Taking advantage of this moment, Yu Gui fled.

At this moment, the Changming Pagoda, having suffered such a massive impact, began to automatically expel foreign entities. The white light transformed into raging flames, incinerating every living being within. For a time, the cries and screams of ancient evil gods and lucky little demons alike filled the air.

In the sea of flames, nothing could be seen clearly. Qu Weiyin finally managed to break free from Luo Ning’s grip, ignoring her pain as she rushed into the fire to search for Luo Jinxiao.

“Luo Jinxiao!” Every time she called out, a sharp pain pierced her chest. She nearly collapsed with every few steps, but there was still no sign of Luo Jinxiao.

“Jinxiao!” Qu Weiyin panicked. Her legs gave way, and she fell into the flames.

A cold arm caught her. Luo Jinxiao, with an indifferent expression, appeared before her, holding her tightly.

Qu Weiyin sighed in relief. She struggled to stand, but unexpectedly, the hand that had been supporting her waist suddenly moved upwards. Then, Luo Jinxiao lifted her into her arms.

“Jinxiao!” Qu Weiyin grew more panicked. She frowned, trying to protest, but was interrupted by Luo Jinxiao’s low voice.

“Don’t move,” Luo Jinxiao said calmly.

Her tone was cold and unfamiliar.

Then, the surrounding flames, mixed with blood, surged towards them. Luo Jinxiao transformed into a stream of air, swept past the Qiongqi lying on the ground, tossed it into her pouch, and vanished from the Changming Pagoda.

“Luo Jinxiao!”

Someone seemed to be calling her name. Luo Jinxiao opened her eyes in a daze, seeing only withered grass.

She rubbed her eyes, her mind in a haze.

What had just happened? She remembered gaining a new power, killing Ah Chou, and then…

But no matter how she tried to recall, the memories felt like they belonged to someone else.

“Luo Jinxiao!” The sharp call sounded again. Luo Jinxiao suddenly realized she was lying on top of someone – someone soft and fragrant.

“Oh my heavens, Junior Shishu!” Luo Jinxiao exclaimed, springing up quickly. Her hair was a mess, covering her face, and she hurriedly brushed it aside.

Qu Weiyin was lying flat on the ground, her eyes red, staring at her furiously.

Luo Jinxiao’s mind was still a mess, unable to process what was happening.

Qu Weiyin was silent for a moment, then said, “Help me up.”

Her face flushed even redder as she spoke.

Luo Jinxiao finally realized Qu Weiyin was injured. She rushed forward, grasping her wrist with one hand and supporting her shoulder with the other, carefully helping her sit up and lean against her arm.

“Are you alright, Junior Shishu?” Luo Jinxiao placed her hand on Qu Weiyin’s pulse to check, but it was swatted away.

“I’m still alive,” Qu Weiyin said softly. She looked up at Luo Jinxiao, her voice growing gentler, “Are you… still you?”

She seemed somewhat afraid as she slowly reached out to touch Luo Jinxiao’s face, then pinched it lightly, finally confirming and letting out an almost imperceptible sigh of relief.

She had been truly terrified.

“Of course I’m me. Who else would I be?” Luo Jinxiao was confused. She looked around for the others, seeing that Qiongqi had turned back into a small tiger, lying on the ground. Fortunately, its belly was still rising and falling – she wasn’t dead.

Luo Ning was lying not far away, the black chicken pacing around her. Finally seeing daylight, it chirped happily.

Yan Ying, looking like a beggar, ran over the hill, followed by Lu Fanzhi, who was carrying water. Yan Ying stopped beside Luo Ning, helped her up, and carefully handed her the water.

Luo Ning’s face was pale, and she didn’t take it.

“Drink some. This is Chang Mu Spring water. It can heal the burns from the Changming Pagoda,” Yan Ying said, squatting on the ground like a child who had done something wrong. Coupled with her dirty rags, she looked utterly pitiful.

Luo Ning’s beautiful eyes glanced at her before silently accepting the water.

Meanwhile, Lu Fanzhi shoved the water into Luo Jinxiao’s hands, her mouth wide open: “I was scared to death just now! I saw that beggar run out, and then the inside exploded, and the barrier was flying all over the place. Then Luo Ning came out unconscious. You were the last to escape, carrying Junior Shishu Qu. I called out to you, but you glared at me. It was terrifying.”

“Why were you so fierce? I waited for you all for so long, even if I didn’t contribute much, I at least put in some effort, didn’t I?” Lu Fanzhi said, feeling quite wronged.

Luo Jinxiao blinked, not knowing how to explain. She couldn’t remember anything after that point.

She took the spring water and tried to feed it to Qu Weiyin, but Qu Weiyin turned away.

“I can do it myself,” she said, and then tilted her head back to drink some water. The water flowed down her pale neck.

“And then what happened?” Luo Jinxiao asked casually.

Lu Fanzhi scratched her head, embarrassed. “Well, it’s nothing much. It’s just that you seemed like a different person. You insisted on healing Junior Shishu Qu, but she didn’t want you to. You even pinned her to the ground and tried to kiss her…”

Qu Weiyin, who was drinking water nearby, choked and sprayed water all over Luo Jinxiao’s face.

“Even though Junior Shishu Qu treats you better than others, you can’t take advantage of her like that. As a friend, I have to say something about this…”

“No one would think you’re mute if you didn’t speak so much!” Qu Weiyin covered her mouth with her hand, harshly cutting off Lu Fanzhi’s words.
