What's wrong with a snake that just wants to cultivate and transform?

Xu Nian, after having her fill of tormenting Qi Shaochen and releasing all the pent-up spite in her heart, finally swam out into the moonlight.

It was already autumn, and the moon shone cool as water, with even the air carrying a hint of chill.

The wisps of cold breeze seemed to sweep away the fleeting joy Xu Nian had felt from her retribution against Qi Shaochen.

Five hours had passed since her transformation tribulation. She had initially lain on the bed, excited, waiting to transform into human form. But as time passed, her excitement turned into a growing sense of desolation and disappointment, and she was overwhelmed with a profound sense of sadness.

The transformation she had longed for so eagerly seemed to have failed.

Xu Nian lay motionless on the ground, gazing at the moon, engulfed in waves of sorrow and despair. Yet, no tears came – as a cold-blooded creature, she lacked tear ducts. Even in her immense grief, she was unable to express it.

After a while, she consoled herself in her mind. It was okay. She had survived so long as a snake, from being hunted to becoming the hunter, and then embarking on the path of cultivation. The journey had never been easy. So what if the transformation failed? As long as she didn’t give up, there would always be a way. Fortunately, she still retained her original form and hadn’t grown any extra heads or tails.

After giving herself a brief pep talk, Xu Nian quietly slipped back into her cave, careful not to make any noise and disturb Ji Yuebai. She slowly climbed back onto the bed.

But as she settled into a comfortable position, she found herself looking into a pair of clear, cold black eyes.

Xu Nian apologized, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.”

As if understanding her turmoil, Ji Yuebai’s gentle fingers stroked her belly, then carefully drew her close, “It’s okay. As long as you get the Transformation Fruit, you can still transform.”

Just the possibility of transforming again…

Xu Nian instinctively buried her head in Ji Yuebai’s body, inhaling her cool scent, feeling her body and mind gradually calming down. She wrapped her tail around Ji Yuebai’s waist, finding some comfort in the gesture,

“Mm, thank you, Yuebai.”

Time passed, and Xu Nian slowly let go of her obsessions, the stubbornness quietly dissolving. She felt light as if lifted into the clouds, enveloped by a warm flow, all her limbs opening up and feeling incredibly relaxed, she unconsciously stretched out, indulging in this new sensation she had never felt before.

Xu Nian slowly awoke from her slumber, greeted by the light azure dawn breaking across the sky. A thin mist made her vision unclear.

A faint cold fragrance lingered at the tip of her nose, and without realizing it, the night had passed. She turned her head and found herself face-to-face with Ji Yuebai’s exquisitely beautiful profile. Her figure was so breathtakingly elegant that it left one at a loss for words. Her nose was indescribably prominent, and her cherry-pink lips, even in sleep, were unconsciously pursed, together forming a temperament as serene as a solitary mountain or cold jade, and Xu Nian found herself unable to look away.

It had been a long time since she was this close to Ji Yuebai. Although they usually shared the same bed, there was always an invisible boundary between them, not out of propriety, but because being close always surrounded Xu Nian with a scent emanating from Ji Yuebai, which stirred an almost irresistible desire in Xu Nian to kiss, to caress, or to engage in even more daring actions.

Xu Nian drew back slightly, suppressing the instinctual urge from her body, but out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Ji Yuebai’s long eyelashes flutter – a sign she was about to awaken.

She greedily admired Ji Yuebai’s beauty, both appreciative and envious. If only she too could transform and have such a beautiful face and body, she thought, unconsciously reaching out to touch Ji Yuebai’s cheek.

In the soft morning light, a translucent, cold white jade-like hand appeared before her eyes, responding to her wish. The hand was delicate, resembling a work of art, with slender and beautiful fingers, slightly pointed and with a hint of flesh-toned pink at the fingertips, gently touching Ji Yuebai’s cheek.

Ji Yuebai eventually woke up, her long eyelashes lifting to reveal clear black eyes that seemed startled upon seeing Xu Nian.

Xu Nian was also immersed in amazement, incredulously looking at her hands and then down at her body, no longer covered in green scales but now with the soft skin unique to humans. Her eyes filled with surprise and delight.

Overwhelmed with happiness, she used her newly transformed arms to wrap around Ji Yuebai’s waist. “Yuebai, I’ve transformed~”

Their faces were so close it was impossible to avoid each other. Ji Yuebai’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and her gaze fell on Xu Nian.

The transformed Xu Nian was extraordinarily beautiful. Her silky black hair flowed down like a cascade, her eyes enchanting and alluring, brimming with tender emotions that effortlessly evoked pity. Her slightly parted cherry-red lips glistened, an almost invisible temptation.

On her smooth and pretty forehead was a delicate and beautiful red demon mark, not at all out of place but rather adding a touch of charm and allure.

Xu Nian awoke to find they were still in the same position as before they fell asleep, but now, as she slightly rose, her smooth black hair cascaded down from her shoulders, intertwining with Ji Yuebai’s, making the sensation of cool fingers on her waist all the more distinct and peculiar.

Perhaps because she had just transformed, her snow-white, delicate body was only partially covered by the somewhat transparent greenish-blue snake skin. It ironically made her skin, fairer than snow and flawlessly beautiful, stand out even more. The thin shed snake skin hardly concealed anything, and her graceful and exquisite figure was almost entirely exposed, the snake skin slipping down further with her movements.

Ji Yuebai averted her gaze instinctively, her eyelashes casting shadows as she spoke in a slightly lowered voice, “Congratulations.”

Xu Nian, oblivious to Ji Yuebai’s discomfort, happily wrapped herself around her as before, “If it weren’t for Yuebai, I wouldn’t have overcome my last mental hurdle. All of this is because of you~”

She almost pressed her entire body against Ji Yuebai, wrapping herself around her without thinking.

As Xu Nian moved, the thin snake skin slid off completely, her astonishingly soft body pressing directly against Ji Yuebai’s. The warm, slick sensation, barely separated by Ji Yuebai’s thin nightgown, was palpable. The friction caused by their subtle movements, even the barely perceivable brushing against certain unspeakable areas, was unmistakably felt.

Ji Yuebai’s body stiffened momentarily, then became awkward.

This was the first time in her life that she had been so intimately close to someone. With their bodies tightly pressed together, she could hear Xu Nian’s excited heartbeat, feel her slightly cool body temperature, enveloped by the slippery softness. She didn’t know how to react, especially with Xu Nian whispering in her ear, as if caressing her earlobes and neck with a feather, sending a pleasantly ticklish sensation spreading rapidly throughout her body, causing her pale earlobes to blush faintly.

She spoke with some difficulty, “Yes, that’s good.”

But as soon as the words left her mouth, she felt a slight annoyance at herself. Xu Nian had finally transformed; she should have been more visibly happy.

Xu Nian, however, caught up in her excitement, paid no heed to these subtleties. After all, Ji Yuebai was usually reserved, so she took it as normal and didn’t take it to heart. She curled up comfortably in Ji Yuebai’s arms as she always did, not feeling anything wrong due to their perfect fit, and excitedly introduced: “Look, these are my hands, I have hands now!”

She said this while curiously showing off her new body parts.

“And legs, where are my legs? Oh, here they are.” She realized her newly grown legs had somehow entangled themselves between Ji Yuebai’s during the night. A bit embarrassed, she quietly withdrew them.

“It’s my first time having legs, I’m still not used to controlling them.”

Ji Yuebai, however, felt slightly uneasy about this. In fact, she didn’t mind Xu Nian’s legs being there, even somewhat liking the smooth and soft sensation. When Xu Nian withdrew her legs, Ji Yuebai felt an unexpected sense of loss.

Ji Yuebai pressed her cherry-pink lips together in restraint; such words simply couldn’t escape her mouth.

Xu Nian sat up to examine her legs – smooth, flawless, beautifully curved, slender yet not bony, long and straight. She nodded in satisfaction, delighted with her appearance, which was just as she had hoped.

Then, it occurred to her that she hadn’t seen her face yet. Eagerly, she sat up fully, took out a mirror, and looked at her reflection. She was momentarily stunned.

The next second, her eyes filled with tears of excitement, nearly bursting into tears.

She was not just beautiful, she was breathtakingly gorgeous. Although her features carried a hint of seductive charm, she couldn’t ask for more. She was ecstatic about her appearance. Her jewelry, her clothes – all her savings hadn’t been in vain. From now on, she decided, she would be the miraculous snake!
